The new Learning Centre provides first-time University access for students from Mount Gambier and the surrounding region.
It encourages mature-aged entry to University, provides indigenous communities pathways to higher education, and creates a social hub for University and TAFE students and educators.
A multifunctional space was part-funded by local Councils and is available as a community facility for lectures, conferences, exhibitions and performances.
The project focused on creating spaces with extensive natural daylight and ventilation, efficient building services including a gas powered VRF system, and the use of local materials such as stone and timber.
The project was designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star equivalent standard.
